Nathan Harris

Nathan Harris is a dynamic and mobile young hooker who re-joins the All Blacks for the first time since the 2014 Northern Tour, when injury in the historic match against the USA in Chicago kept him from playing for an extended period.

He worked hard to make a comeback, which included nine matches for Bay of Plenty last year. Injury early in the 2016 Investec Super Rugby season saw him miss six games but he has made another strong recovery.

Harris was also part of the New Zealand Under 20 side that made the Final of the 2012 Junior World Championship and originally joined the All Blacks for the 2014 Investec Rugby Championship as an injury replacement.

He played at number 8 before switching to the front row; recently-retired All Blacks legend Keven Mealamu was another former loosie to make that switch.

Harris is not the first All Black in the Harris family; his grandfather’s cousin, prop Perry Harris (All Black 751), who played four matches in 1976, was also an All Black.
