PREVIEW: All Blacks vs Australia

New Zealand will be hoping to win their third successive match of the year against Australia when the countries meet in Yokohama on Saturday.

Although the All Blacks have won the Bledisloe Cup for the 16th year in a row – after victories in Sydney and Auckland in the Rugby Championship – they will be determined to win this encounter after suffering a defeat in last season’s dead rubber clash between these sides in Brisbane.

Meanwhile, the Wallabies have plenty to prove to their supporters and themselves after an underwhelming international campaign in which they won just three out nine Tests so far in 2018.

South Africa and New Zealand will conclude their Rugby Championship programme for 2018 in what should be a thrilling contest in Pretoria on Sunday (NZT)

Although the All Blacks secured their third successive tournament title when they beat the Pumas in Argentina last week, they will be out for revenge in this encounter as they have a score to settle with the Springboks, who claimed a shock 36-34 victory in the corresponding fixture in Wellington last month.

That result was the All Blacks’ first defeat in the Rugby Championship since 2015 and ended a six-match winning streak against the Boks, which means the world champions will not lack motivation this weekend.

The All Blacks will be brimming with confidence when they take on the Springboks in their Rugby Championship clash in Wellington on Saturday.

The world champions have, once again, been the dominant force in the southern hemishpere’s premier international competition and a bonus-point victory in this fixture against their traditional foes will secure them a third successive tournament win for New Zealand.

The men in black have been in superb form and are sitting pretty at the top of the Rugby Championship table with 15 points after notching bonus-points wins in their three matches against Australia (twice) and Argentina.

New Zealand will look to make it three wins from three in the 2018 Rugby Championship when they face off with Argentina at Trafalgar Park.

It is a sold out venue as the All Blacks take this game to one of the country’s smaller grounds, with 21,480 fans in attendance. This will be the first time New Zealand has played a Test match in Nelson and this weekend promises to be a special few days for the city.

They face a side buoyed by their most recent outing as Argentina ended an 11-game losing streak by defeating South Africa in Round Two, a result that has handed the All Blacks further breathing space at the summit as they attempt to retain a trophy they have held since 2016.
